111. Camarasaurus lentus tooth
Late Jurassic
Western North America
Camarasaurus was one of several gigantic sauropod dinosaurs which roamed the Morrison ecosystem.
Unlike Diplodocus, which had weak, pencil-like teeth, Camarasaurus had massive teeth with broad, spatulate crowns. These teeth allowed Camarasaurus to completely chew plant material before swallowing it.
While we know how Camarasaurus chewed, we still do not know exactly what plants it fed on.
