117. Saurophaganax maximus
Thumb Claw with Restored Sheath
Late Jurassic
Western North America
Saurophaganax was the biggest predatory dinosaur of the Jurassic world, approaching T. rex in size.
However, Saurophaganax is a rare dinosaur, known only from one quarry in Oklahoma. Its forearms were large and powerful and ended in a sharp, recurved claw.
This thumb claw is the biggest one of the hand and has the horny sheath of the claw restored. Sheath not removable.
